The mountain is on fire. It's actually not super far away from my apartment. Of course, there are tons of houses in between me and the fire, so it's not a big deal, but it is fairly gross outside. Some people in the ward live in houses, and their houses are actually up in that part of town. Fire looks smaller today though. It must be contained.
Dead bird count today: 0. Whew! (Unless you count the one in the fridge in the ziploc...then it's just 1.)
I told someone about the dead birds, and his first reaction was that they all must have West Nile. Like I didn't already hate birds enough.
I wonder what the bird autopsy is going to be like. That must be the plan--why would she want the bird otherwise? Yuck. I'm not attending. Hopefully, that happens somewhere far away.
Stayed up WAY too late last night. Had a breakfast meeting at 8. Sitting at my desk right now, I'm half asleep. Good sign first thing in the morning.
My new roommate is amazing. That is all.
The guys in my ward are not fantastic at softball, but it sure is fun to watch them try. They definitely play hard.

I'm sorry, bird autopsy? Are you kidding me? Who will be performing it? I have to say, if I found three dead birds I'd be pretty much freaking out. Never a good sign when animals just start dropping dead.
New roomie? did you move already?
Yeah, Jer and I think a bird in the freezer is pretty gross.
I'm glad the new roomie is great. You deserve a reasonable one.
Yeah, the bird thing is pretty gross. I have no idea why mom wanted me to keep this last one, but I did it. I hope that it's being shipped off somewhere for bird autopsy. Or maybe she just doesn't believe that it died of natural causes. It did.
Yep, I am totally freaking out. Freaking, freaking out. And last night, I watched a scary movie with some friends that was largely based on these crows that were just everywhere and they were attacking people and flying into windows and weren't really dead when they looked dead...it was pretty much super scary, considering the past week.
The new roomie isn't actually a roomie yet. We'll be moving in together in August. She's already in the ward, so I know her, and she has just been great. It's a pretty funny situation. Last Sunday, we were talking about where we were going to live, and I said, "We should live together. I'm a great roommate." So then on Tuesday, she called me and asked if I was serious about that, and I said that I was. She found an open apartment in our complex, got us a deal on the rent, brought the contract to me at work so that I could sign it, and pretty much has taken care of the whole thing. So it'll be me and her and one of the girls that she already lives with who I don't know as well but is really great too. I'm happy, because now that whole situation is resolved and I can stop worrying about where to live. I went to a ball game last night with them, and then to the temple this morning with one of them. They're really nice girls, and I think they're 24-25, so they're not all immature and freaky. They both are graduated and work, so we'll have pretty similar lives.
Also, when David saw the bird in the fridge he apparently almost puked. Kinda sad I wasn't here to see it. :)
For the record I didn't almost puke. I was freaked out but come on... Dead bird, in the refrigerator...HELLO!
