Why are vegetables so expensive? I was at the store today buying some veggies, and they were so expensive!! I feel bad for people who truly can't afford to buy those things. It's much cheaper to eat boxed convenience food, but that food is so bad for you.
How will anyone ever eat healthier? It's so much quicker, cheaper, and easier to eat bad food...

I totally agree....I think I will just start eating Ramen noodles for every meal! It really does cost more to eat healthier. It is too bad that ice cream and cookies aren't good for you, or I'd be a lot healthier!
Oh yeah, I'd be in great shape if ice cream and cookies were good for you!! Mmmm...now I want a cookie. With some ice cream.
I made it in and out of the grocery store without buying any junk food, AGAIN. :-) Hooray!
Remember on star trek how they would just get their food out of some food making thing, and they could eat whatever and it all had the same nutritional value? I wish I had one of those things here in my kitchen. I'd be living on...I shouldn't think about it or I'll fall off my wagon.......
Oh, yeah, I've always wanted one of those things!!! That would be perfect.
Last night at FHE, I had to leave early. I usually can't go because of school, but they were holding it late. So I went for a bit, but hadn't been home all day and was way hungry, so I needed to go eat dinner. I told someone that, and they were like, oh, we've got food here--we have cake, ice cream, chips, and soda.
Um, that's not food people...it may be awesome, but that's just going to make me feel worse. I passed. Then I had chicken for dinner, and that was actually awesome. But expensive. *sigh*
Actually, if you focus on the basics, like beans, whole grains and inexpensive meats, it costs less than convenience foods. You can make a healthy meal for way less than the cost of a combo meal.
some canned vegetables taste just fine and cost less than fresh ones, but some veggies are only good fresh.
As for the ice cream, why waste the calories on anything but the best?
I suppose that it does...I just know that since my healthy eating kick has been going, I've been spending WAY more at the grocery store than usual. I guess I'll get better at it.
