Comprehension

I'm not the most brilliant person on the planet, but I feel like I have a fairly good understanding of the world around me. However, recent events have caused me to re-evaluate my self-evaluation.

The light fixture in my living room is a fan with four lightbulbs. You can turn on two at a time, or the other two, or all four.

One of the lightbulbs has been burned out for about six weeks. The other day, I was sitting on my couch watching TV with the light fixture completely turned on, so the three functioning lights were illuminated.

As I sat, perfectly still, peacefully enjoying the TV, the fourth light illuminated itself.

I am at a loss for how that could happen.

All four lights have been working for about a week now.

Instead of dwelling on the fact I apparently do not understand how lightbulbs work, I'm spending time congratulating myself on my laziness, which prevented me from changing the lightbulb that I thought was broken for at least six weeks.

My lightbulbs heal themselves. That's all there is to it.

I TOTALLY GET THIS! A few years ago, my car stopped doing its beeping thing when I'd lock or unlock my car with the remote locking/unlocking thing. I just lived with it because I didn't want to spend big bucks to fix it when suddenly, and during my birthday week of all times, the beeping came back! Little Sister and I were going to go eat (of course!) and it started beeping at me again! Hallelujah! Yay for laziness fixing our electronics!

Wow. That is good to know. I will not change any bulbs until after your visit. :-)

As for the comment left by lzeOfLight, I also had my car stop honking at me when I locked it. I on the other hand, took it in to be fixed. The nice guy at Nissan showed me how to fix that problem if it ever occured again. So if your car ever stops honking when you lock it, give me a call, I might be able to help.

Now, on to the lightbulbs....Where did you buy them? I have a light about 12 feet up which makes it hard for changing. If I could get some of these lightbulbs that fix themselves, it would be SO MUCH easier. ;)
