Law School Tidbit: Contracts II
We were reading a case in Contracts about the broken levees in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. The plaintiffs in the case were suing their insurance companies, who refused to cover the losses because "flooding" was excluded. The reasoning is kind of long, so I won't bore you with it, but the bottom line is that the levy breaking counted as flooding, so the people lost the case.
