Time Change

I am spending the Thanksgiving holiday in Wisconsin, America's Dairyland, although it should be noted that last time I visited, I saw exactly zero cows.

My sister, her husband, and their three sweet boys moved there this year, and I'm looking forward to getting to spend time with all of them.

Tuesday, I was talking to my sister on the phone about the boys' schedules to prep myself.  Last time I visited, the boys were...helpful in waking me up when they wanted me to be awake.  I was surprised at the earliness of the hour, but they assured me that since the sun was up, I should be, too.

This time, I figured that I'd start getting up a bit earlier each day to be ready for that, especially considering the one hour time difference.

However, my sister informed me that the boys get up between 5:30 and 6:30 each morning, which is 4:30 to 5:30 here.

I just don't see that happening during these next two weeks.  It might take a bit of cheerful motivation to get me out of bed that early, so I'll probably have to wait until I have three giggly boys to stare me down in my sleep.

We've (temporarily) brought back TV for the kids. This morning at 530 I found myself frantically tucking them in on the couch with their blues and milks, turning on Cars, and then hopping back in bed for some emergency sleep.

You might make it to 7. :-) Could happen!

Play with them really hard. Hopefully they will be exhausted - then they will sleep in.

Where does this go? When they are teenagers you won't be able to get them out of bed with C4 explosives...

The secret is to go to bed when they do so that at least you get the hours of sleep. They are just shifted a few hours earlier in the night. With two of you there, you will still be able to get things done in the early morning while they are awake.

And by the way, when I was in Wisconsin, I saw lots and lots of barns, but I don't remember any cows either. Maybe I saw wome when we went out of town on a drive. Somebody's Parents thinks he at least smelled them a few times.

Oh yeah, one more thing. Our ward seminary starts at 545. It will be my pleasure to drag the boys out of bed at a horrible hour and drive them to seminary. A little part of me will get some satisfaction from wrecking their sleep. :-) Naughty mama!!
