In this city, something or other is always under construction. These days, there's significant construction in my building (street-level construction), as well as in the underground of a nearby street. (Listen for the blasts--that means things are about to blow up!)
This weekend, things are pretty quiet because of the holiday. Lots of folks are out of the city having one last summertime hurrah, and no one really wants to work.
That's okay. Judging from how the construction looked when I recently left and then returned a month later, it won't matter if they're taking a few days off. Nothing looks like they're making progress anyway...
