Conversations

I very rarely am spoken to on the street here. I have lots of friends who get yelled at or hollered at by guys, but I've never had a problem. Sometimes I stop to give tourists directions, but other than that, I pretty much mind my own business and don't have any issues.

Today, I was walking to the subway with a friend from school, and a man walking the other way shouted, "Cover your mouth when you smile! You're going to catch bugs!"

I don't really know what to do with that.

I am so glad that you are known for the smile. Much better to have the smile than the grumpy face.

I have often been noticed for my smile and my whistle as I work.

Much better than being known as the personification of the grinch.

Keep Smiling...DAD

Aaaaand, now a comment from the grinch. I'll tell you what I get:

"You have such a sad face."

Nice.

I'd say, for the next few weeks at least, go for bug control. While cicadas are probably high in protein, they are also high in ick.

I just saw a story on the news this morning that bugs are the answer to ending world hunger...too bad the news did not have a solution to report on rude people who speak when no one wants to hear them!
